2009

 

It is not only a end of 2009, it is a new decenium which starts with 2010... . It must means a lot of new adventures. 2009 was a lite bit of more slow motion than 2008. But that doesn't say so much, because I never think that the time stands still.

It has been several highlights during the year. The first one was Moscow. Russia, a country I for  a long time wished to visit. And now it was for real, And now it wasn't the country or Moscow that was most important, it was Doglas and Oksana. I and Tina Uneholt visited the Eurasia Show. and Doglas was going there :-) A wonderul meeting, to see Doglas again, and meet Oksana for the first time. Doglas looked as wonderful he looks from the picture I all the time got from Oksana. Oksana and I have no common language, it is the body language and our sommon live to Doglas that makes that we understand each other.  And standing there together with Oskana when Doglas got his prices for the Best Veteran in the Russian wheatenclub... well You can understand that I were proud and happy.

And we saw a lot outside the showground. Thanks to all who showed us around, and all the history we learned. And all the tasty food we tasted. It was so nice to meet you all.

In the beginning of the summer the terrerier club regional east has a inofficell show, not at all like the ordinary shows. Here we are together in a 8 dogs team for each terrierbreed. I had two dogs with me. Ike (Ambush Like It Or Not) and Mira ( Ambush Miracle So Magic) The wheaten team ended up at a second placement. That's nice, because the price is to arrange the next years show... so a to be second is good enough :-)

One of my really highlights during 2009 was not a showw, not at all. Even if it could sound a bit strange if we are talking about me, who loves the life aroung and inside the showground. No, I took my Ike and travelled 60 Swedish miles to the south of Sweden to be a part of learning more about to handle your dog on a normal day at home. It was really interersting, and I learned a lot. I have been on several lessons during the years, this was one that I will remember for a long time, and be sure, I will travel that 60 swedish miles ones more for take another lesson. And I think that You can never learn to much about dogs... and to be honest... about yourself :-)

My travelling to shows this year has been less if I compare with 2008. But that doesn't say so much. I think I felt like I never unpacked my suitcase during 2008. But Ike (Ambush Like It Or Not) has done real well during 2009. If I, myself, the breeder and owner and handler hasn't shown him by myself... :-( Because Ike has decided do not show himself together with me. He will not show his wonderful movements... and in that case, it no idea for me to show him. My husband Björn has shown him several times with good results and placement in Best Male. Sandra Träff has shown Ike to BOS in one show, but shortly after that her own Lexus became champion, and of course she wanted to show Lexus in the championclass by herself, and that means that she was no longer available as handler for Ike. But there were other of hands ready to help. We went a bit north in Sweden, Svenstavik. Linnea Hultman Håkansson ( Kennel Lakkas) gave me a hand and handled Ike to BOB. And a few hours later Åsa Lundell ( Kennel Goforit) showed him to BIG- Reserve. Thank You so much for Your help.

The way back home I never will forget... that meeting with that Elk... wow, it was real close that it could have ended up in a way that I don't want to talk about.  In the middle of night, dark as the darkness itself... a female elk just came in my sight, to close to anything except stand on the brakes... thanks for my car... a Chrysler Grand Voyager... and goodbye to my car...

An one for sure... I will never own another car that isn't a Chrysler, that Chrysler saved my and Lena and Åsa's lifes. So I bought another one. Even if my dear husband tried to think of other alternativ... but no no no... I have never been so sure of anything in my life ( And... no I have no sponsor agreement with Chrysler :-)


The new car... today even with grillguard and extra lights on.. all for a safe trip...

 

 

Åsa Lundell has still "adopted" Ike in the showring. Thank You Åsa. We went together with Lena Carlsson ( Kennel Leciha's) to Norway. Our plannes did not really work out. But the result was good enough. Åsa's bitch Jänta"Goforit Christina Aguilera got the CC and a got a third placement in Best Bitch. Ike was second best male without CC, but he got the R-Cacib, and that will turn out to a Cacib, because the winning dog, Jack, Honeylee's Lord Of My Heart is already international champion. Thast means that Ike just have one more to go outside Sweden... we will work for that during 2010... living on the hope...

My other dogs I have shown in the ring is Chippen and Mira (Ambush Beyond Paradise och Miracle So Magic) Chippen has been placed as fourth Best Male once. Well, at a inoffciell show he got a BIS-placement, it doesn't counts... but he did it... :-)

Mira has started as a girl who doesn't like to show hersef, but it has changed :-) The lasts shows she has really suprised me... from beeing the bored lady coming after me in slomotion, now I hardly can keep me up by her side... :-) I hope she will keep up that attitude in the future, and that her coat will mature. If it does she will be a lovely girl to show.

Thea ( Ambush I Knew I Loved You) has not been showed so often. She had a coat that had to mature. And it is more easy to bring the dogs that lives at home with you. Now her coat is so nice, and she lives with us again. So it is sometimes in lifes. The girl who had Thea had a change in her life, so Thea came back to our family. But in some way we have her together, 'cause when her "old family" can have her, Thea is on vaccation with them. But when I am inside the ring I can understand that I haven't shown her all the time... that girl... after a few minutes I am wet of ... she has so much energy and wants so much. But she is lovely, no clouds on her heaven :-)

One breedergroup from Kennell Ambush has been shown during the year. With an honorprice for simular dogs... well well... two thick and two thin coats... but the nice words of their movements... that I can say yes to... Maybe I have more material for breedersgroups during 2010 with the youngest borned 2009... maybe... :-)

Kaiser (Wheaten My Love Learning ABC) Not often shown this year. Our plannes were to show him abroad to get him the title of International champion... but sometimes time and reality is not the sam as dreams and plans. But he ended the year as he should. BOS in the last show of the year.

During that last big show in Stockholm, the one that ends the year in Sweden it always happens another things. And one of the most important things are our christmastable... filled with so much nice thing to eat. everyone takes with them their speciality from the north to the south of Sweden.

The day after the show I were back again. To representant the breed togehter with the club. Myself and Thea talked with interested people and answered quetions. And Thea represented the breed in the big final ring... just walked in to show the breed... so mucj people and so much light and music... and Thea said just a few words... the show must go on... and her tail tolde everyone that she liked the situation :-)

Even Kaiser visited the big showroom... in a special shownumber. Marc Linnér had made a special song for the show, and Kaiser ws an ingrediens in the show. And now we are talking a lot of lights, music and people, and a Kaiser who just had a fun time :-)

 

The year has not all the way been just shows. Except work, family life, dogwalks in the forest, bath, friends... and so on... It has also been two littres borned at Kennel Ambush. Thea were mated with "Nimbuz" Ectra's X-Ray it turned out to be nine puppies six boys and three girls.  named after Van Morrison. Sally Ambush Insatiable had fice puppies, three girls and two boys, and the proud father of that litter is Leciha´s Paladin Father To A Hero  with the name Palle. That litter is namned after Leonard Cohens lyrics.

I have kept two in the Van Morrison litter.

I can't stop feeling happiness when I got the mails and photos from Oksana, Kennel Modny Style.  So happy I am that it turned out so well that Doglas made that journey and now is living with her. And how well he has done (and Oksana aswell :-) at  the shows.
And just in time for christmas I got the report that Doglas has been a father again :-) Still going strong, old man... :-)

The result that Doglas made during the year, please look at Kennel Modny Style  wep page., 'cause it is Oksana, who should be proud of that, even if I am happy and proud as well.

So it is clear, the time hasn't stand still during this year. And I think I  can be satisfied with that result. And I am happy for the result that I am alive, and can have my dogs around me to warm my feets, now when it is for once a real winter.

Next year, my plans are to live in slow motion.... :-) Well if I do as I have plannes for it will be not so much travelling around. The World Winner show in Denmark... and we have a 3 days show in Jönköping, and after that... my economy... it will be nothing left... So for take it for sure I before that start in january in Åbo in Finland...  But if I know my self right... maybe it will be a few shows more :-)

My plans for breeding... is Lil, Ambush Remember Me, I hope I can mate her with good results in january. And when we will see, I have som girls wich are standing in the lines, it depeends of the results of x-rays of the hips.

The only thing I am sure of when it depeends of 2010 is that year is going to be a new adventure. And I hope it will be an adveneture full of laughs together with friends inside or outside the showrings.
